UT fans what happened to Bryce Brown?

Not really for sure, not saying much on volquest. He probably realizes he will be backing up Tauren Poole and won't be handed the starting job. I hope it's not true but if it is, we will be okay at the RB position. That is one of the only positions we are loaded at.

Just got a text that said he left for personal and family reasons. I knew his brother went back home.

Instead the former five-star recruit and No. 1 overall prospect in 2009, according to Rivals.com, has temporarily left the program and is not considered a part of the team.

"On a personnel matter, Bryce Brown came to me today and indicated he's dealing with a lot of personal and family problems right now. Concerns, that I believe, stem from and what he told me stem from, No. 1 some of the reasons why he came here," Dooley said. "Number 2, his experience over the first six months when he was here. And as of right now, he's not a part of the team.

"It doesn't mean we've kicked him off by any means. We want Bryce here, and he's going to be here through the rest of the semester. But my focus really is on the 85 guys who are here and have great spirit about the direction of the program. And we're excited about having our first practice."

I'm normally not one to say I told you so, but I told a lot of you his primadona antics weren't over w/his enrollment at UT. This is just another example of what I was simply forewarning most of you UT fans about. Just like UTVols2 said above, he wasn't handed the starting job, and he pouted and is taking his ball and going home. I called that a long while back.

This quote from Dooley on ESPN's blog is telling:

"I was a little surprised, but you can only control what you can control," Dooley said. "He went through the entire offseason, but I also think that this wasn't something from the last three weeks. But I'm not here to recruit. I'm here to coach."

Brown thought that recruiting and pampering continued all the way into when you're on the team, apparently. That's what I take out of Dooley's statement.

Note that Arthur left Miami due to personal reasons as well. That personal reason? His g/f broke up with him apparently. It had jack & squat to do with him not knowing the defensive keys and unable to secure a wide open MLB job w/Daryl Sharpton's graduation, I'm sure. No way it would have been b/c Miami's staff just didn't give him the keys to the MLB position. But...that's the spin job he and his family put on it. Same deal here w/Bryce as far as I can see.

I think Tauren Poole got a raw deal last year having to sit behind BB for most all the season. He outperformed just about every RB on the roster in practice and scrimmages and never got his chance because I feel Kiffin wanted to get his #1 recruit in there and let him go. Poole would constantly pop 60, 70, and 80 yard runs during intersquads, spring game, etc and hardly ever saw the field. This includes allowing Oku to get more carries at the start of the year. I hope he gets his shot this year, but, our O-Line is gonna blow so it may not look good anyway.

We got a lot of weapons at the WR and RB position but a weak o line which as we all know that is where it starts and can make an avg running back look special. I hope we sign at least 10 lineman this year because we need some hogs.
